Project Info

Objective: Pontiac engaged Billups Design to provide the design and technology for a viral marketing campaign that would enable Pontiac to penetrate local markets nationwide. The site would invite high school sports fans to submit their highlight videos and vote on them in order to win prize money for their schools.

Solution: Billups Design architected a contest site that contained video libraries, a media player and voting functions for contest management. Technology employed included Flash AS2, object-oriented programming and Cold Fusion.

Results: The site received considerable attention from test markets and generated considerable presence for Pontiac in these markets among 18-35 year olds. 12 schools received prize money totalling over $15,000 and participating dealerships reported increased sales during the period.
