Billups Design was approached by Hyatt to provide a wide array of custom design and coding services in pursuit of upgrading the online presence of several dozen properties in three categories: restaurants, rental residences and an independently branded hotel brand: Park Hyatt.
Our initial insights demonstrated that these properties were out-dated and not in concert with the customer needs in each category. Restaurant reservations were a fraction of what they should be through the existing sites, rental residences failed to answer business ‘renters’ key questions about life at the residence, and the Park Hyatt hotel properties world-wide were not tied-in to the new brand guidelines developed by Hyatt.
Design
Billups Design set up a team of designers and coders to specifically address each unique property as it rolled in. In the case of restaurants, we collected all brand assets and messaging and created a unique design that reflected the restaurant’s complete aesthetic. We even incorporated immersive Flash experiences in some cases. To make rental residences sites more compelling, we devised a master template design that could be used anywhere and added features like floor plans, amenities and neighborhood attractions. For Park Hyatt locations, we created a master site template that Hyatt could replicate as needed with minimal custom content design that hued tightly to their standards.
Delivery
In 20 months, Billups Design simultaneously delivered 8 custom sites for Hyatt-owned restaurants, a templated site system that was utilized by 18 more restaurants nationwide, 3 rental residences locations abroad, and the master Park Hyatt site for immediate replication.
- Helped Hyatt business and marketing managers meet extraordinarily tight deadlines and roll out progressive sites
- Increased online reservations at one (example) restaurant from 50 to over 1,000 per month
- Increased site traffic to one independently branded hotel (Hotel Victor South Beach) by over 75% to over 3,000 visitors per day in 2010
